Impossible!
What is this world coming to? I still don't believe this story: Factual Error Found On Internet
Journalism is really getting loose with its standards these days. Before you know it, someone will publish a ludicrous story claiming that all politicians are lying to us.

Life for Dummies
In the ongoing tradition "XYZ for Dummies" books, here is a very short read for all those who claim to be anti-war without really understanding why war (unfortunately) exists in the first place.
taken from American Thinker:
1. There will always be bad people.
2. Bad people don't care about hurting good people. Appeals to shame, empathy and guilt don't work on them. That's why they're bad people.
3. Bad people respond to force. They don't like it and will change their behavior to avoid it.
4. Good people need to use force to stop the bad people from hurting other good people.
5. It's not the same when a good person uses force to stop a bad person as when the bad person uses it to harm a good person.
6. Not letting good people use force against bad people encourages more bad behavior.
7. Good people using force against bad people should be encouraged. This will make the world a better place.

Better Sharpen Those Catholic Swords
"There's a new pope in town, pilgrim"
According to all the news reports about the pope's visit, we're on the verge of another crusade.
As we all know from past experience from other state and religious hardliners who use "soft" tactics like apostasy, torture, excecution, and plain old banning, that the pope is probably picking out some sharp stones this very moment and asking his followers to polish up their swords.

Safety Alert -- Everyone south of the mason dixon line in danger!

Have you seen the latest Consumer Report recall notice?
Funny that a highly respected magazine like CR doesn't realize, down south, those teeth aren't fake!
I hope someone warns the British. Some of the teeth I saw over there...yikes!

Good article about a rooftop battle in Samarra. 4 US army guys vs 15-20 iraqi and foreign terrorists. Unfair fight...for the terrorists.

OH NO! They're closing down US colleges!
From reading the headlines, you'd think that they are shutting the doors on these US colleges. But if you bother reading the article, you might figure out what the retarded headline meant to say.
I blame global warming...or maybe it's just bad journalism schools.

Vietnam era history review
Since there appears to be so many re-writers of what used to be recent history, here's a pretty good summary of the war that everyone keeps comparing Iraq to:

The Fonda Fallacies: Why Jane Fonda Was Wrong, and Why It Matters Today
Too bad a well-documented summary springs from a discusson on the poster-child for Hollywood stupidity: Hanoi Jane.
Could there be a better example of why Hollywood douchebags and other self described "trend-setters" should stay out of politics and just stay in my TV / Radio / Movie screen?

View from the window at the Inn at Biltmore
I had a week long meeting in Marietta and Fran came along too as it was her spring break. On the way back we stopped in and stayed a couple of nights at the Biltmore estate. The hotel was just an excuse to stop and get more wine!
Anyways, it was just a few weeks before all the flowers start blooming, but it was still a nice stay.
