Funny thing, the free press.  You get statements like this:

"America's CEOs are coming under fire these days not just for their
hefty salaries but also for their use of private jets, limos with
drivers and free trips to posh resorts."

But they aren't alone in living this lavish lifestyle -- the president of United States gets all these perks and more.

And unlike some of his Cabinet appointments, he doesn't have to pay taxes on these benefits.

then this:

President
Barack Obama on Wednesday imposed $500,000 caps on senior executive pay
for the most distressed financial institutions receiving federal
bailout money, saying Americans are upset with "executives being
rewarded for failure."

I agree...we should not reward executives for failure.

So how about a new presidential salary plan.  The president doesn't get paid until the end of his term.  And then he only gets paid based on how many of his campaign objectives, no matter how outlandish, that he actually accomplishes.  Kinda like getting stock options.

GWB...let's see...you promised to keep America safe.  Check...you pass go, you get your $400K per year, have fun in Crawford.

BHO...let's see you promised to...remove lobbyists from the Gov't payroll and enforce ethics in your administration and government in general...and oh yea, change the world.  I hope you have put away some "rainy day money" b/c your take home pay for the next 4 years might be a little light.

Now that really looks like a plan! And here's an addition: Take away dollars from his pay if he does something during his term that he specifically promised NOT to do -- like hire lobbyists and raise our taxes! The way he's going right now, he would wind up OWING the gov. money instead of vice versa!
